IMP Software, the UK leader in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning software for Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), has appointed Nick Allen as their new Chief Technology Officer. The appointment was a result of a global executive search led by Andrew Banks, Managing Partner with support from William Batt, Associate at Faraday Partners, in collaboration with IMP Software’s leadership team: Will Jordan, Founder & CEO; Mat Truche-Gordon, Chairman of the Board; and Alexis Noble, Head of People.

A product-centric technology executive, Nick brings more than two decades of experience building high-performing teams and platforms across regulated and data-intensive environments. Most recently as CTO at Aro (now part of ClearScore), he oversaw Product, Data, Engineering, Security and IT, transforming a people-heavy operation into a modern, cross-functional digital product organisation. Under his leadership the platform moved to high-velocity delivery on AWS and Kubernetes, introduced 30+ machine-learning models into production, and achieved ISO 27001 certification while materially improving performance, scalability and reliability.

Across earlier roles, Nick served as Head of Digital Technology & Chief Architect at Stagecoach Group, where he built the company’s in-house product and engineering capability and led the launch of global travel platforms handling tens of millions of daily searches. He has also founded and scaled SaaS products to acquisition and guided complex public-sector programmes, experience that blends hands-on technical depth with clear commercial outcomes.

At IMP Software, Nick reports directly to Will and as a core member of the executive leadership team, leads all aspects of engineering at a pivotal stage as the company scales into a multi-product, category-defining platform for education finance.
