Summary
Founded by Alex Asseily and Daniel Mouen Makoua, Zulu Ecosystems (previously Zulu Forest Sciences) originates large-scale forest restoration projects using proprietary analytics, identifying and transforming marginal and degraded land into viable nature-based projects. The innovative platform combines more than 100 data layers with scientific and carbon market expertise to provide real-time, digital baselines of a landholding’s natural capital assets. A seed investment round of $3M was secured in early 2022 with participation from the Rausing family office and Lars Rasmussen (co-founder of Google Maps), among other senior internet and software entrepreneurs.
Our Partnership
Working closely with the Founders and CEO, we shaped product direction, market opportunity, and competitor and talent landscapes in carbon sequestration and land management. We translated those insights into organisational design and hiring strategy for significant expansion. Our support ensured Zulu Ecosystems could attract the right expertise as it pursued its first software product and built its inaugural go-to-market team. Zulu Ecosystems now designs and implements large-scale ecosystem restoration projects using proprietary analytics, satellite and land data, and MRV (measurement, reporting & verification) systems to regenerate landscapes and supply high-integrity carbon credits.
